Ailsa Craig — an extinct volcanic cone that rises solitary from the Firth of Clyde off the coast of Ayrshire. For centuries, the island’s unique microgranite has been quarried for a single purpose: to produce the world’s finest curling stones. About 70 percent of all curling stones used in the Olympic Games come from the rock of Ailsa Craig. Precision, durability, Scottish craftsmanship—the spirit of this island is embodied in the name of this blanket.
The Tartan “ Ailsa Craig ” wool blanket is woven in Scotland from 100% pure lambswool —sourced from a lamb’s first shearing, which is considered particularly soft and gentle on the skin. A rich green as the base color, interspersed with rust, red, orange, purple, and blue: The tartan pattern of the “ Ailsa Craig ” reflects the wildness of Scotland’s west coast, where the light over the Atlantic changes by the hour. A natural lavender scent is also woven into the soft fibers. Available in two sizes: 150 × 180 cm (approx. 1,100 g) or 150 × 200 cm (approx. 1,250 g).
