The Inner Sound (An Caol Mòr) — the stretch of sea between the east coast of the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland. In the foreground Scalpayis the small, uninhabited island in the middle of the sound. Behind it lie the peaks of Torridon and Wester Ross. It’s a view that Cath Waters sees every clear day from her adopted home on Skye—and whose quiet drama she captures in her linocut style using just a few blocks of color: dark water, the silhouette of the island, and the distant mountains.
