The Elevated Candleholder differs from all other pieces in the collection in one key way: the candleholder sits elevated on a slender steel stem—the flame stands freely in the room, casting its shadow farther and visible from every angle. A simple, elegant solution that showcases the light.
Handcrafted one by one in a Scottish blacksmith’s shop: steel heated in a coal fire, then hammered on the anvil into its characteristic slender, raised shape. No two pieces are identical. Coated with a light protective varnish. Dimensions: 32 × 13 cm.

Caring for Handcrafted Furniture
Our furniture is crafted by a Scottish blacksmith using traditional craftsmanship—heated over a coal fire, shaped on the anvil, and finished by hand. It is naturally sturdy and easy to care for. This brief guide shows you how to keep steel, oak, and leather in top condition for years to come.
Candleholders & Fireplace Accessories
Hand-forged steel
Hand-forged steel is one of the most durable materials there is. It doesn't require any special care—but a little attention will keep it looking great for years and prevent rust.
| Daily Care | Simply dusting it off lightly with a dry or slightly damp cloth is all that's needed. No cleaning agent is necessary. |
| Fingerprints & Grease Stains | Wipe it down with a soft cloth and a drop of mild dish soap in warm water. Then dry it off immediately—standing water can cause stains or slight oxidation. |
| Oxidation & Patina | A light patina that forms over time is not a flaw—it is a sign of a genuine, handcrafted piece that has a life of its own. If you want to preserve the piece’s original condition, rub a thin film of machine oil or linseed oil into it occasionally. |
| Candle wax | Hardened wax can be gently scraped off with a blunt object (e.g., a wooden spatula). Remove wax residue with a slightly warmed cloth—never scratch or scrape it off. |
| What to Avoid | No steel wool, no abrasive cleaners, no acidic substances (vinegar, lemon). These will permanently damage the surface. |

Solid oak with a lacquered finish
Our tabletops are crafted from the highest-quality solid oak and protected with a thin coat of varnish. This finish is durable for everyday use—but is sensitive to heat, moisture, and harsh cleaning agents.
| Daily Care | Wipe it down with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Then immediately wipe it dry—standing water can damage the paint surface over time. |
| Stains | Blot immediately—especially red wine, coffee, and oil. A slightly damp cloth with a drop of mild soap is enough for most stains. Never scrub. |
| Heat Protection | Always use coasters—hot cups, pots, and candles placed directly on the wooden surface will leave white rings or discoloration in the varnish. |
| Sunlight | Direct, prolonged exposure to sunlight causes oak wood to fade over time. Moving it to a different location or covering it occasionally will help preserve its color. |
| What to Avoid | Do not use cleaners containing alcohol, ammonia, or bleach. Do not use silicone-based furniture polish—it leaves a film that will make the wood look dull over time. |
Leather Straps & Leather Accents
Caring for Leather Details
Some of our products—such as the optional leather straps for the picnic blankets or leather accents on furniture—feature handcrafted leather. Leather, too, requires minimal but proper care.
| Cleaning | Wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents on leather—they strip the material of its natural oils. |
| Care | Treat the leather once or twice a year with a high-quality, colorless leather conditioner—this will keep the leather supple and prevent cracks. |
| What to Avoid | No direct heat, no prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and no large amounts of water—leather dries out and loses its flexibility when exposed to these conditions. |
