Kuuhi Scottish Shepherd Plaid | Undyed Virgin Wool

A blanket with a story to tell. This 100% natural throw is made from undyed wool —the black and white of the check pattern don’t come from a dye bath, but directly from nature: dark wool from black sheep, light wool from white ones. No dyes, no processing. Just wool.

This pattern was traditionally used in the Scottish Border Hills —the hilly border region between Scotland and England, where shepherds tended the slopes with their flocks. The plaid protected shepherds and lambs from the weather and served as both a garment and a blanket for sleeping under the open sky.

The pattern was so popular that Sir Walter Scott —Scotland's most famous novelist, author of *Ivanhoe* and *Rob Roy*, and himself a man of the Borderlands—ordered a pair of pants in exactly this design.
