The Loch Ness is Scotland’s deepest and most famous lake—37 kilometers long, up to 230 meters deep, and of such an impenetrable dark blue that even on clear summer days no light reaches its bottom. It lies in the Great Glen, the massive geological rift that cuts across Scotland from the northeast to the southwest—flanked by steep, forested slopes and ancient ruins.

This Kuuhi picnic blanket Loch Ness features the striped pattern —the oldest woven motif in Scottish textile history. Before the tartan Tartan took on its current form, the Highlanders wove simple warp stripes in wool—plain, parallel lines whose simplicity is more timeless than any tartan. This original pattern can be found in the earliest Scottish weaving archives and remains the most elegant of all Scottish weaving motifs to this day. Woven in Scotland in a rich midnight blue from 100% pure lambswool, with a waxed cotton underside that keeps you dry even on damp grass and wet sand.
