Glenmorangie is located in Tain, on the coast of the Dornoch Firth in northern Scotland—the distillery with the longest stills in all of Scotland, which give Glenmorangie its particularly light, floral character. The Signet is this distillery’s most extraordinary product: it is the only whisky in the range distilled using a portion of roasted cocoa malt barley —the same type of malt used in dark stout beer. The result is a whisky that sounds like the Highlands but tastes like a meeting of Scotland and a chocolate pastry.
Aged for several decades in a combination of virgin oak barrels and Oloroso sherry casks. Each bottling is a blend of whiskies from different vintages—the youngest component is at least 15 years old.
Flavor: Mild, creamy, and well-balanced—vanilla, popcorn, honey, and a subtle hint of lemon icing. Over time, deeper notes of dark chocolate and freshly ground espresso emerge.
Flavor: Rich and complex—caramelized sugar, orange zest, cloves, and a silky mocha coffee. Full-bodied with hints of ginger and dried figs.
Aftertaste: Long and warm—cocoa, walnuts, and a lingering sweetness that slowly fades.

Single Malt gilt als die ursprünglichste und charaktervollste Form des schottischen Whiskys, da er den unverwechselbaren Stil seiner Destillerie und Region am deutlichsten zeigt.
Schottland hat fünf traditionelle Whisky-Regionen: Speyside (fruchtig, elegant), Islay (rauchig, torfig), Highlands (vielseitig, von leicht bis kräftig), Lowlands (mild, blumig) und Campbeltown (salzig, maritim). Das ist Geschmackssache, aber die meisten Kenner empfehlen, Single Malt zunächst pur zu probieren. Ein paar Tropfen stilles Wasser können die Aromen öffnen und den Alkoholgeruch abmildern — besonders bei Whiskys mit höherem Alkoholgehalt. Eiswürfel werden meist nicht empfohlen, da Kälte die Aromen unterdrückt.
