Ever since the distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice deep in the hills of the East Highlands , GlenDronach has been synonymous with exceptional expertise in cask selection. This 12-year-old Highland Single Malt owes its profile to combined maturation in the finest Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. Without the use of colorants, the “ Whisky ” develops its natural, deep amber-gold color over the course of a decade.
On the nose, a harmonious blend of sweet, creamy vanilla unfolds, accompanied by subtle notes of ginger and autumnal pear. On the palate, the " Whisky " is silky-smooth and full-bodied—the characteristic sweetness of " Sherry" meets warm oak notes and sun-dried raisins. The finish is long and firm, marked by a subtle nuttiness.
With a well-balanced alcohol content of 43% vol., this Highland Single Malt is an ideal choice for purists who enjoy it neat at room temperature—perfect for connoisseurs as well as for those looking for a solid introduction to the world of sherry-influenced whiskies.
