Glen Garioch (pronounced: Glen Geerie) is located in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire—one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, founded in 1797 in the rugged northeast of the country. Far removed from the “ Speyside ” tourist trail, “ Glen Garioch ” is an insider’s secret among connoisseurs: a full-bodied Highland “ Whisky ” that combines the depth of sherry casks with the characteristic warmth of the Scottish north.
Glen Garioch , 15 Years Old Sherry Cask is aged entirely in Oloroso sherry casks—no bourbon casks, only Sherry. The result is a deep, amber-colored Whisky with a remarkably rich character for its price.
Aroma: Dried fruit, raisins, and Christmas cake, with a warm sherry-like sweetness and a hint of ginger and cinnamon.
Taste: Full-bodied and smooth — dark cherries, chocolate, plums, and a subtle oakiness.
Finish: Medium-long and warm — caramel, dried apricots, and a lingering " Sherry" aftertaste.
