Article: What makes Scotland so great?

What makes Scotland so great?

What makes Scotland so great?

We all know someone who loves Scotland and visits every year. They tell you just how much fun they have. So, what’s the deal? What makes Scotland so great? Here, we’ll outline a few things we believe set us apart.

Humor

You have to come see for yourself how well we get along. We love to laugh...

Landscape

Our rolling countryside is a sight to behold. We’re known for our winding roads, which lead you to breathtaking scenery no matter where you are. You’ll discover views like no other as soon as you reach the summit of a Munro. We also have spectacular beaches and waterways. Along the way, you might encounter our beautiful sheep and cows roaming across much of Scotland.

People

We believe that one of the most important things is that Scots are friendly. We’ll do our best to help you whenever we can, and have a little chat while we’re at it. We’ll talk to you as if we’ve known you forever, tell you a story, laugh, and joke around.

Language

Our Scottish dialect is something you have to see for yourself. We have so many words of our own that aren’t used in English anywhere else in the world. They’re spoken so quickly and with such a lack of clarity that it’s hard to tell which letters were used.

Weather

Our weather is unlike anything you’ll find almost anywhere else. You’ll need to pack carefully for all eventualities and make sure you have clothing and footwear suitable for any kind of weather. Throughout the year, it seems as though you can experience rain, sun, wind, and snow all in the same day.

Castles

The first castles in Scotland were built in the 11th and 12th centuries. Over the years, the design and structure of the castles have changed, but it is believed that there were once more than 3,000 castles. Today, there are over 1,500. They are a great place to learn about Scottish history and a source of wonder for many children and adults!!!
